Safwan Siddiq
AI Automation Engineer KL, Malaysia

Hi, I'm Safwan.

I build AI-powered automation systems that make businesses run smarter — and I've spent my whole career arriving at the frontier just before everyone else does.

Systems Thinker.
Creative at Heart.

My journey into tech started with an Electrical & Electronics Engineering degree — which gave me a deep, almost instinctive understanding of how systems work. But I quickly realized that engineering alone didn't let me fully be myself. I wanted to build things that communicated, inspired, and connected with people.

So I made an unusual move: I stepped into content production at a social enterprise creating learning materials for Malaysian schoolkids — think Khan Academy, but homegrown. That's where I found my sweet spot: applying systems thinking to creative work. The precision of a well-designed production pipeline. The craft of storytelling that actually lands with an audience.

That combination has followed me everywhere since — through roles in digital marketing, design, enterprise architecture consulting, and Learning & Development at a global manufacturing software company. Different industries, different titles — but the same underlying obsession: how do you build something that works beautifully and means something?

Always at the Frontier.

There's a pattern people who know me tend to notice. I show up to things early — not because I'm chasing hype, but because I genuinely find new things interesting before they become obvious to everyone else.

2014

Podcasting

I co-founded a podcast studio and produced several shows — a current affairs show, a spoken word poetry show, a creatives-by-creatives show — back when most people in Malaysia had never listened to a podcast, let alone made one. I was told more than once that I got in too early. Maybe. But the curiosity was real, and so was the craft.

2020

No-Code Development

During the pandemic, I taught myself no-code app development. The result? A prototype I built for a foundation I was working at beat three professional software houses in a formal evaluation — and would have saved tens of thousands in development costs. People told me they had never even heard of no-code as a concept until I showed them what it could do.

Now

AI Automation

When the AI wave arrived, I was already building. I've since developed a growing suite of automation projects — an intelligent email sorter, a newsletter aggregator and summarizer, a YouTube note-taker, and more. Each one a real proof of concept for what becomes possible when you wire AI thoughtfully into everyday workflows.

"I don't chase trends. I just tend to find interesting things interesting before they become obvious to everyone else — and I can help bring your business there too."

I Automate the Work
That Slows You Down.

I design and build AI automation workflows that integrate with the tools your team already uses. Whether that's eliminating repetitive manual tasks, creating intelligent data pipelines, or building internal tools your people will actually want to use — I bring an engineer's rigour and a creative's eye for what genuinely works in practice.

I work best with teams that want to move fast, stay lean, and get ahead of where technology is heading. Working with me means you're not just getting automation built — you're getting a partner who's been thinking about this for a while, who understands both the technical and the human side, and who genuinely cares whether it makes your life better.

Still a Creator,
Always Curious.

I've been an obsessive podcast listener since 2009 — long before it was mainstream — which is partly why I eventually ended up making them. I'm drawn to ideas at the edges: conversations that challenge assumptions, disciplines that bleed into each other, and work that sits right at the intersection of craft and technology.

I'm based in Malaysia, proud to be part of a growing regional tech scene that's doing genuinely interesting things. I like working with people who are ambitious about where they're going — and who understand that good work and good company aren't mutually exclusive.

Let's Build Something Smart.

If you're ready to bring AI automation into your workflow — or just want to explore what's possible — I'd love to hear from you.
